Volkswagen T5 T6 repair kit for rubbing sliding door
Product description
Repair rubbing door trim and paint damage
Is the sliding door trim of your Volkswagen Bulli rubbing against the rear wheel arch or mudguard and causing unsightly and expensive damage to the vehicle's paintwork? After fitting this repair kit, the problem is permanently solved!
Cause: Missing holder since facelift model
From the T5.2 facelift model up to the current T6.1, Volkswagen has omitted two central brackets from the sliding door trim. The omission of these holders sooner or later leads to deformation or bulging of the sliding door trim, which is why it rubs against the rear wheel arch when opened.
Inadequate solution from Volkswagen
Volkswagen is aware of the problem, but has not yet provided a satisfactory solution. There is a TPI (Technical Product Information) which contains two supposed solutions. Either the sliding door is readjusted or the panel is completely replaced. However, the problem recurs after some time, as the central retaining points are still missing.
Innovative repair solution made from durable material
This spare part was developed and designed for a permanent solution and is made of extremely durable and heat-resistant material. The holders are simply glued into the designated injection points. The opposite holes in the bodywork are also already present.
Simple retrofitting thanks to repair guide
Thanks to our repair guide, installation is child's play. This comprehensive guide contains illustrated step-by-step instructions that guide you through the entire process from removing to reinstalling the sliding door trim to successfully retrofit the holders.
If you have any questions, you are always welcome to contact us. We'll get back to you as soon as possible, within 24 hours on weekdays.

FAQ
Does the repair kit fit all Volkswagen T5 and T6 models?
Our repair kit is suitable for the VW T5.2 (facelift model) up to the current VW T6.1. It was specially developed for these models, where the central retaining points of the sliding door trim are missing from the factory. Excluded are the Transporter and California model series as well as panels with integrated table.
Can I fit the repair kit myself or do I need a workshop?
You can easily carry out the installation yourself. Thanks to our illustrated step-by-step instructions, installation is quick and easy - even without prior knowledge or special tools.
How long does the installation take?
Installation usually takes around 20-30 minutes. All you have to do is fit the holders with the prepared adhesive surfaces and retrofit them - and the problem is solved.
Do I need additional tools?
No, no additional special tools are required. All the necessary parts are included in the kit. Only a standard plastic wedge or a screwdriver can help to carefully loosen the cover.
Do I have to drill or screw?
No! The repair kit is simply glued to the designated injection points. The matching counterparts in the body are already available ex works.
Is the adhesive included in the kit?
Yes, high-quality special adhesive is included so that you can start fitting straight away.
Can the sliding door still be opened and closed without any problems after installation?
Yes, the repair kit ensures that the trim no longer rubs against the wheel arch so that the door works perfectly again.
Does the repair kit solve the problem permanently?
Yes, our repair kit has been specially developed to permanently fix the problem. Unlike the solutions proposed by Volkswagen, our system ensures that the trim does not bulge or rub again.
Is the repair kit also suitable for vehicles with electric sliding doors?
Yes, the repair kit can also be used for electric sliding doors without any problems. The function of the electric sliding door is fully retained.
How long does shipping take?
Orders are usually dispatched within 24 hours. The delivery time within Germany is 1-3 working days.
Can I return the repair kit if I am not satisfied?
Yes, you can return the repair kit within 30 days, provided it is unused. Just get in touch with us and we will help you.
How much distance is gained by fitting the repair kit?
Fitting the repair kit creates a gap of approx. 5-10 mm between the trim and the wheel arch. This permanently prevents the sliding door from rubbing.
Is the repair kit also compatible with the VW T5.1 (built before 2009)?
No, the repair kit is not suitable for the VW T5.1 built before 2009. On these models, the central brackets were still present ex works, so the grinding of the trim must have a different cause.
Can I also buy the holders separately?
No, our repair kit is only available as a complete kit. This ensures that all components fit together perfectly and the problem is completely solved.
Does the kit also help if the fairing rubs against wider tires (e.g. 275s)?
Yes, by installing the repair kit you gain additional clearance of approx. 5-10 mm, which can also help with wider tires. This can reduce or completely prevent grinding.
Can I also have the repair kit fitted in a workshop?
Yes, many of our customers have already had the repair kit successfully installed in an independent workshop or even via the warranty process of a licensed Volkswagen workshop. Our solution is now known to Volkswagen and is accepted as a permanent repair measure.
How high are the shipping costs?
For all orders we offer worldwide free shipping via DHL.
